The character maps in this are very well detailed but, in the end, it's just more people behaving badly. Meh. 2.5/5

Beasts of the Southern Wild
This film is extraordinary on every level. The direction by Behn Zeitlin is exquisite is detail, tone, palette & focus. The script is densely allegorical, obtuse, and really will make you think. And the acting by 8 year old Quvenzhané Wallis is simply astounding and better than 97% of working actresses out there. This is a must-see film if you like things on the surrealist side. Magical. 5/5
