A very average documentary by Herzog - interesting but lacking in his usual insights. 3/5

Django Unchained
The marvelous acting barely makes up for the indulgence & arduous length of this gratuitous action flick. Will someone get Quentin an editor already? That was three movies crammed into one. So frustrating to watch. The acting was fabulous though, I have to say that. Everyone in the cast was amazing, which is why it even has 3 stars. 3/5

For Ellen
Paul Dano is divine in this heart-breaking indie drama that totally captured me from minute one. Perfectly done. Seriously, why isn't Paul Dano a MUCH bigger star? The last 3 things I've seen he was transcendent - he needs to get more love. 4/5

The Comedy
If this film had just 5 minutes of exposition it would be a 4 star film - the plot is just too vague to make sense. It makes me angry actually - this was a potentially awesome & dark
film. It reminded me of Shotgun Stories - no exposition. Bah. 2/5
