Sing

Okay, I straight up loved this. There was nothing about this feel-good film I didn't love. I cannot say anything bad about it, honestly. It was sweet, I loved the redemption story, and all the character work was awesome. I had no idea ScarJo could sing either, so that was a bonus for me. Loved this! 5/5

Hail, Caesar!

I've been sort-of hate-watching the Coen brothers' comedies for a while now in the same way I hate-watch anything by Wes Anderson. A long time ago the Coens and Anderson made movies I absolutely loved, but they've been coming up short for so long I'm beginning to question why I keep coming back. For once, I was very pleasantly surprised by the Coens, because I really enjoyed this. It was an odd plot, that's for sure, but the acting and pacing were top-notch. I was intrigued and engaged thoroughly, and there were moments that really sizzled for me. Channing Tatum's dance number was divine, as was every scene with  Alden Ehrenreich, who I just loved in this. Really entertaining, and enough to keep me watching for another few films. 3.5/5

Avengers: Age of Ultron

So, I seem to have radically different opinions than other Marvel fans. Most of the world thought the first Avengers film was amazing, equal to "The Dark Knight" even. I thought it was fairly average and kind of a waste of talent. This movie has gotten mostly average to bad reviews on Netflix. And I thought it was f'n AMAZING. THIS is the Avengers movie I was waiting for. I loved every moment of it and can see how it will lead perfectly into Civil War. Bravo Marvel for getting this one right. 5/5

Lucy

Maybe it's because I'm a Jean Grey fan, but I didn't have the problems with this others did, I found it intriguing. Plus Choi Min-Sik is in it - can't really go wrong there! 3/5

Under the Skin

Nope. Not having it, especially given all the amazing new sci-fi out there that is INFINITELY better than this. Please, instead of this, watch "Upstream Color", "Antiviral", "Another Earth", "Perfect Sense", or "Bellflower" (which isn't sci-fi but visually similar). Or, really, anything at all by Nicholas Winding Refn. All better than this crap. Ugh. 2/5

Her

A perfectly brilliant & poignant film wonderfully acted by Phoenix. It just needed some editing to make it perfect. 4.5/5

Don Jon

Joseph Gordon-Levitt knocked it out of the park with this insightful & truly funny comedy about love & sex - I loved this. 5/5

We Bought a Zoo

What's happened to Cameron Crowe? This, like "Elizabethtown", is painfully average with very good acting. Meh. 3/5
