She's Funny That Way

Normally farcical romps like this aren't my thing but this was quick-moving & funny - Poots was great. 3/5

Cake

Continuing the tradition of Oscar tragedies this year comes "Cake", a tragic yet darkly funny drama. The movie is excellent, but the Oscar travesty here is that Jennifer Ansiton, who will likely never get a richer, more complex, and meaty role as this, was utterly amazing, and, yet, was not nominated. I wish I knew what drugs the Academy was on this year, I truly do, because this was a truly life-changing performance by Aniston and it should have been recognized. A wonderful film. 4.5/5

Life of Crime

An very average drama with above average acting but not enough originality to make me interested. Just good. 3/5

Just Go With It

This ridiculous rom-com is just barely watchable & utterly unbelievable from beginning to end. Bah humbug. 2/5

Wanderlust

Just a terrible, awful, trite little comedy about bad people behaving badly - Apatow is losing his touch I think. 1.5/5
